The Industrial Services Hygienist position is an integral part of the Illinois OSHA mission to ensure safe and healthy working conditions by setting and enforcing standards and providing training, outreach, education, and assistance to employers and employees throughout Illinois. Our vision is to be an occupational safety and health resource which is realized through timely, practical, useful, courteous, and professional services, all of which is built on the premise that occupational deaths,
injuries, and illnesses can be prevented.
Please understand, IL OSHA enforcement inspections are detailed and require significant documentation. After the on-site inspection, an inspector will spend several hours writing a narrative and developing a case file to support recommended violations. The inspection process typically takes several days to a few weeks and is usually much more intensive than inspections conducted in other occupations.
