The Caterpillar Foundry located in Mapleton, Illinois has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship. The competency-based Apprenticeship Program is a partnership between Caterpillar and Illinois Central College (ICC). As an Industrial Maintenance Apprentice at Caterpillar, you will be employed as a trainee in our Industrial Maintenance program. At the same time, you will be enrolled in classes at ICC, completing classwork and hands-on training in both electrical and mechanical maintenance. After approximately 30 months in the apprenticeship program, you will graduate from ICC with an Associate's Degree in Industrial Technology and continue working at Caterpillar in an Industrial Maintenance role.
Job Duties/Responsibilities will be assigned according to your qualifications and may include, but are not limited to:
- In this role you will be responsible for successfully completing the Industrial Maintenance classes at ICC as well as demonstrating the ability to use this training along with hands-on training to complete mechanical and electrical tasks in an industrial setting.
Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership that requires organizing or working with groups
- Must be able to complete daily commute to both the Caterpillar Mapleton facility and Illinois Central College East Peoria Campus
- Meet minimum requirements in mechanical aptitude.
- Meet minimum college ready requirements in Math and English
Additional Information:
- To be considered for this program, you must also apply to Illinois Central College and complete required aptitude testing at ICC

- Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected applicant.
