Industrial Hygienist (Early/Mid-Career)

• Competence in the field of industrial hygiene (occupational/environmental health) as demonstrated through a combination of related education, training, and work experience
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Biology, Chemistry or a closely related field plus (2) or more years of relevant occupational safety and health work experience; or master's degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or a closely related field plus (1) or more years relevant experience; or doctorate in relevant occupational safety and health discipline; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

• Credentialed by ABIH as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
• Credentialed by BCSP as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite computer applications
• Working familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations (29CFR1910 and 29CFR1926) and Department of Energy safety and health regulations (10CFR850 and 10CFR851)
• Experience working independently on assignments and exercising decision-making authority
• Ability to work effectively with others in a teaming environment under minimal supervision
• Experience providing authoritative consultation and advice based on experience and technical knowledge
• Excellent customer relationships and workplace interpersonal skills
• Experience performing occupational/environmental health related monitoring and interpreting resultsDesired Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
