Industrial Engineer Assembly


OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Industrial Engineer Assembly


offers industrial engineering advice to help with operational and productivity gains.


Authority and responsibility: Industrial Engineer Assembly


The assembly industrial engineer works on projects related to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost compliance as well as continuous improvement. Implements initiatives for continuous improvement, guides teams through safety and ergonomics procedures, and enhances Work, Walk, and Wait possibilities. improvements to flow in material storage areas and streamlining of all Non-Value Add activities are coordinated and planned. Maintains and leads the Continual Improvement initiatives for the Assembly department, focusing on improvements to the day-to-day Lean Manufacturing processes and Up-Front engineering design. uses the most up-to-date technology and best practices to create functioning production systems that are world-class.


THE POSITIONS' ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Industrial Engineer Assembly


  • Help with:
  • Comply with and enforce all plant safety regulations.
  • Internal Auditor for the TS16949/ISO9001 Audits of the Assembly.
  • Recognize and advance guiding principles
  • Keep track of all cell cycle periods to maintain an accurate assembly capacity planning model.
  • Develop operational optimization models using techniques from operations research.
  • Create and implement a plant layout process based on lean manufacturing concepts that optimizes material handling (including material flow and storage needs) and keeps all relevant drawings and documentation up to date.
  • Keep a database. Offer ideas for the Assembly Department's Continuous Improvement and help put them into action.
  • The assembly's champion for ergonomics. Design out any potential ergo and safety issues by collaborating with engineering and HR. design of safe equipment using Jacks software.
  • Internal Auditor for Joint Health, Safety, and Environmental Audits of the Assembly.
  • Use time and motion study approaches, such as the "Work, Walk, Wait" method.


Planning and investigating improvement initiatives


Utilization of lean tools


Instruction in improvement analysis methods


Analyzing "what if" adjustments to production procedures and product design


Benchmarking other businesses


Assessing and offering comments on submitted ideas.


  • Use value stream tools to model and analyze processes.


Participate in Six Sigma projects, number 13.


  • Encourages proper hygiene (5S)

SKILL (Capacity to Perform) Industrial Engineer Assembly


  • Ability to provide results using Six Sigma analysis, Lean Manufacturing/TPS tools, and Industrial Engineering techniques.
  • The capacity to create and keep up-to-date working prototypes of computer-based evaluation tools.
  • A fundamental knowledge of 8D, FMEA, APQP, and SPC.
  • AutoCAD 13 or above proficiency.
  • High degree of proficiency with MS Excel, including the use of macros and other sophisticated features.
  • Comprehension of inventory management and production scheduling
  • A basic understanding of kaizen activities and standardized work.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be a self-starter, a team player, and open-minded.
  • Solid mathematical and statistical knowledge.


ACTUAL DEMANDS


The physical requirements of this job include the ability to lift 20 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, and sporadic bending or stooping. an office setting. Using standard PPE and safety precautions, you might spend some time in an industrial environment.


USED EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS


Computers, checking fixtures, calipers, micrometers, various hand tools, video equipment, stop watches, and personal protective equipment are just a few of the tools and equipment used.­­­­


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED


  • Engineering B.S. degree (recommended) 5 to 10 years of expertise
  • Black Belt in Six Sigma (recommended)
  • Industrial engineering B.S. (recommended)


TRAINING IN TECHNIQUE:


Strong operations research and time and motion study skills, as well as a track record of several medium- to large-scale projects that were successful.


OTHER: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and AutoCAD proficiency


EXPERIENCE AT WORK Industrial Engineer Assembly


Industrial Engineering background in automotive or a related field with innovative program launches 5-10 years

TRAINING NEEDED


Understanding the Product and Process Overview, OSHA Required Training, New Hire Orientation, TS16949, and ISO14001


The Industrial Engineer will oversee processes for continuous improvement, error-mistake proofing techniques, and a decrease in operator fatigue, all of which will enhance quality and safety.
