Indoor Maps & Geolocation Expert

We are a start-up developing a social media digital platform geared towards promoting physical retail sales. Over the past decade, e-commerce has significantly increased as a percentage of total retail sales. The Covid pandemic has further accelerated this trend as evidenced by the closures of many retail chain stores. When compared to the online sale journey (e-commerce), physical retail is relatively inefficient. Our vision is to create a platform that decreases this disconnect and provides a better-tailored customer experience thereby increasing physical retail sales.

A key facet of this would be to partner with malls that would serve as hubs. Our proposition would allow malls to generate net revenue from our platform which creates a win-win for all parties. Additionally, the platform will incorporate tools for communicating with and enhancing customer experience.

This concept can be further expanded to include resorts, exhibition halls, stadiums, etc.

YOUR ROLE

You are an EXPERT in both theoretical, technical understanding and implementation of the following:

• Third-party indoor mapping solutions such as Mapped, Pointr, Mapsted, situm and/or others
• Using pre-existing signals and their strengths, such as WiFi, Bluetoothto provide accurate geolocation
• IBeacons
• Google Maps SDK, Mapbox SDK
• Indoor Wi-Fi & hybrid positioning

You will be the in-house lead and responsible for educating the team on possible solutions, their relative merits, and implementation. Additionally, you will advise as to the best path to pursue both in the short and long term. In the initial instance where possible, we envisage incorporating existing maps where available. Subsequently, we intend to transition to a standardized solution.

Compensation is 2% of Newco. Subsequent to funding a full-time role with cash compensation would be possible.
