Job Description
Job Summary


The In Vivo / Neuroscience Research Associate will be a key member of a team charged with developing, validating, and executing in vivo assays to investigate drug targets and understand mechanisms underlying disease. In addition to testing the effects of compounds and other manipulations on the behavior or physiology of rodents, these assays will also sometimes include postmortem tissue processing. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and effective both independently and in a collaborative setting. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Experience with rodent models is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities


  • Organization, analysis, and presentation of results
  • Postmortem tissue harvesting and processing
  • Execution of pharmacodynamic studies including formulation of dosing solutions and delivery via multiple routes (e.g., oral gavage, intraperitoneal injection, intravenous injection) as well as measuring readouts
  • Development and validation of in vivo rodent pharmacodynamic models in multiple disease areas


Qualifications And Education Requirements


You must have:


  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of standard data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Prism)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Minimum of two years laboratory research experience
  • Bachelor’s or Masters in biology, neuroscience, or a related field


Additional Preferred Experience Includes


  • Histological processing (immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, microscopy)
  • Rodent experimental models including in vivo compound dosing and behavioral or physiologic testing
  • Data organization, analysis, and presentation


The expected salary range for this role in New York City is $52,500–$87,500. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
