THE POSITION
This expert Information Assurance (IA) Security Specialist for the JSSC at the Pentagon, will perform technical security reviews, provide Risk Management Framework (RMF) related guidance, conduct policy reviews, oversee compliance management program, and implement of Department of Defense (DoD) information security regulations across JSSC operated and maintained systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide cyber security support and direction relating to security reviews and network analysis to include scanning, testing, auditing to determine system vulnerability, overseeing and monitoring responses/compliance to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA)/Bulletins, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs), and CYBERCOM/DISA coordination efforts such as Operation Orders (OPORDs), Tasking Orders (TASKORDs) and Warning Orders (WARNORDs)
- Perform Security Assessments & Authorizations according to the RMF, as required by DoD Directive 8510.1-M, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) (500 series) for the Protection of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) within Information Systems, and the DoD Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) Certification and Accreditation Process
- Analyze and review drafted updates to security policies and procedures as required by existing and new security regulations and directives and provide written feedback to include suggested organizational positions and responses
- Ensure organizational compliance with DoD information security regulations and perform testing and installation of all applicable approved security updates to include identifying, testing, installing, and managing hardware and software IAVAs in accordance with the implementation requirement date, performing vulnerability scans using DoD-approved scanners and working with the governments Security Office (SO) information assurance officer to identify and mitigate Operating System (OS) and software security vulnerabilities on all servers, workstations, and network devices
- Exercise sound independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria associated with obtaining results under this contract; identify upgrade needs and anticipate customer requirements by effectively planning, scheduling, and overseeing system upgrades
- Interact with both customer and contract leadership relating complex technical issues/solutions in a manner to establish a partnership
- Improve the customers operating environment by providing expert support while also maintaining the cybersecurity/IA posture of systems/hardware managed/administered for both JSSC and JSSCs customers assets
- Compliance with all safety and security requirements, policies, and procedures; worksite access protocols and updates, training requirements, required certifications, and other duties/projects as assigned
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Position is 100% onsite at the Pentagon
- Video interviews will be conducted
- 8 years of general information technology experience, of which 5 years is specialized, a degree is not required, AND;
- DoD 8570 Information Assurance Managerial IAM Level 1 (Sec+) Certification, AND;
- 5 years of experience in information technology, of which at least 3 years of specialized experience in system engineering and/or design, design assurance, or testing for INFOSEC products and system computer networking technology.
- Providing IA/cybersecurity support in network and software development environments ensuring mission success in support of DoD unclassified/classified networking environments
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related disciplines, AND 5 years of experience in information technology with at least 3 years of specialized experience, OR;
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related disciplines, AND 2 years of specialized experience, OR;
- Minimum Active Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to be Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) indoctrinated, AND;
PREFERRED:
- Experience with Host Based Security Systems (HBSS), Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) and Xacta Cyber Risk Management Solution
- DoD 8570 IAM-II Certification: CompTIA CASP CE
