Description
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is searching for an enthusiastic, outgoing, reliable individual to fill a Services Coordinator Supervisor (HSC II) position located in the Metro Region at the Newton South Norfolk Area Office located in Walpole. The HSC II will provide direct leadership, support, and supervision to team of 6-8 Human Service Coordinators (HSC I) including assigning cases as needed, providing support for crises management, conflict resolution, facilitating Individual Service Plans (ISP) development, Meditech and Home Community Services Information System (HCSIS) management, and the coordination of supports for the individuals supported. the Supervisor will also be responsible for the training of new HSC I as well as assisting in covering vacant HSC I positions.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
- Train new Service Coordinators in job duties
- Conduct EPRS for HSC staff
- Assign individuals to Service Coordinators
- Participate in provider meetings, planning for services and is part of the Area Office Management Team as well as sitting on the Risk Management Committee.
- Work with Area Director and Assistant Area Director to maintain automated data systems including compiling specific statistics as needed, in addition to managing related projects within the Area Office.
- Work as a member of MASSCAP team for determination of prioritization of services and conduct MASSCAP assessments.
- Participate in are planning and protocol development.
- Participate in screening, interviewing and selection of candidate for HSC positions
- Maintain records and work within HCSIS, PAM and Meditech.
- Provide support and consultation to local area provider agencies, family members, including assisting Service Coordinators to Facilitate cooperative communication and resolution to critical issues.
- Provide monitoring, review and supervision of ISP development and approval (including ensuring that ISP content accurately reflects all services and other expenditures in the individuals' budget)
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:45am - 5:00pm;
Days off: Sunday/Saturday
Flexibility required to meet the needs of the Area Office.

Qualifications
This requisition will remain open until filled; however, first consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
Applicants must have (A) at least four (4) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, case management or clinical/therapeutic experience (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Based on assignment, travel may be required. Incumbents who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license at a class level specific to assignment.
Substitutions
I. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for two (2) years of the required (A) experience.
Based on assignment as Qualified Intellectual Disabled Professionals, within the Department of Developmental Services, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, education of the physically or emotionally handicapped, education of the multiple handicapped, education of the learning disabled, human services, rehabilitation, rehabilitation counseling, nursing, recreation therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, music therapy, physical education or other a related field is required.
Based on assignment as a Mental Health Case Manager or Forensic Transition Team Coordinator, within the Department of Mental Health, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, education of the physically or emotionally handicapped, education of the multiple handicapped, education of the learning disabled, human services, rehabilitation counseling, education or other a related field is required.
