Job Description

Inserso Corporation, providing IT services to the federal government, is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to perform professional-level human resources work with a day-to-day focus in HRIS management, employment-related inquiries, employment engagement activities, compliance, and benefits administration.


Responsibilities:

  • May lead/manage HR projects and/or employee engagement activities and events.
  • Manages employee performance evaluation process.
  • Handles employment verifications, to include interacting with investigators.
  • Leads semimonthly payroll meetings between HR and Accounting
  • Acts as a liaison to the Accounting/Payroll department regarding benefit deduction adjustments and other employee data changes.
  • Handles some aspects of benefits administration.
  • Serves as the main POC for employment-related inquiries, providing timely and responsive support to employees seeking assistance.
  • Initiates new hire onboarding and separation processes and ensures all applicable documents are completed.
  • This HR Generalist role will focus on the following responsibilities: Serves as the primary administrator for data entry and document placement in both the HRIS and Data Management System (M-Files).
  • Conducts new hire employee orientation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on the current and future needs of the HR team.
  • Manages all E-Verify and I-9 actions.


  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Adobe.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote HR team environment.
  • Experience in the federal government contracting environment, preferably within a small/medium-size business.
  • Recognizes and handles potential problems and proactively suggests ways to mitigate.
  • At least 4 years of direct HR experience.
  • May be required to attest to or provide proof of COVID-19 vaccinationorbe able to provide a negative COVID-19 test result based upon time frames established by the applicable facility if position requires you to enter certain facilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate and interact effectively at all levels of the company.
  • Extensive understanding of HR policies, practices, and compliance.
  • Familiar with benefits administration, to include Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, FMLA, and Health and Wellness programs.
  • Required Skills/Experience:BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Flexible and willing to adjust to the needs and priorities of a growing business.
  • Working knowledge of relevant HR federal, state, and local employment-related laws and regulations, preferably with governing federal contracts.
  • HRIS experience such as isolved, PeopleSoft, ADP Workforce Now, etc. and the ability to learn multiple vendor-related HR systems.
  • Actively contributes to the HR team to complete tasks, meet goals, and manage projects.
  • Quickly build trust and maintain a solid work ethic with the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, dedication, and confidentiality.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, detail-oriented with ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with conducting new hire orientations, employee onboarding and separation activities.
  • Ability and willingness to learn quickly, take initiative, and follow through.



  • Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with payroll, security clearances, employee engagement activities, and employee event planning.


  • Physical Requirements: Continuous sitting or standing at a workstation while operating a computer.
  • May move computer equipment or other office items weighing up to 10 pounds.
