Reporting to the Retail HR Lead, the Retail Human Resources Business Partner will serve as a strategic business partner to store management; ensuring compliance with policies, providing guidance and counsel, and handling various aspects of HR administration. This role is based out of our New York City Office and requires 20% of time in store.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Process various reports and focus on the administrative tasks associated with HR reporting, policy and procedure
  • Partner with the Retail HR Lead to ensure maximum performance of all HR Metrics and to create action plans to positively impact top and bottom line business initiatives
  • Interpret policies and procedures, and provides counsel and guidance to Store Management, Supervisors and Associates on workplace issues
  • Other related duties to be assigned by direct supervisor
  • Serve as a strategic adviser to our operational management team to understand business needs and proactively identifying gaps in communication or process and procedure
  • Provide guidance to leadership and non-management personnel in resolving work related problems; ensuring a balance between employee needs and organizational goals
  • Train Managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment
  • Follow up and track all aspects of employment, such as completing employment forms, conducting orientations and notifying the department of new hire start date
  • Participate in the management of various aspects of HR administration including payroll, benefits, records retention, EEO/AA compliance, compensation, and employee relations.
  • Process liaison for employee relations questions and concerns, leaves of absence, paid time off, workers compensation, etc.
  • Partner with Retail HR lead on employee relations concerns assist with interviews, investigations, disciplinary actions, and provide HR support at the store level
  • Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures and local, state, and federal requirements


Qualifications:

  • Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills
  • High volume, multi-location, retail environment experience required
  • Expertise in the opening of new markets as it relates to staffing, government regulations and HR-related store operations
  • Ability to travel to our various Theory locations across the country when the business dictates
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3 years of multi-unit HR experience in a complex market (ie. multi-state market, high volume employee relations matters)
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • General knowledge of federal and state employment laws and practices



Salary range: $85,000.00 -90,000.00*


*The offered salary or salary range is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and location of the position.
