HR Business Partner - South Central Division

This HR business partner is responsible to internal clients to address employee relations and performance management issues in alignment with organizational policies and goals and in compliance with federal and state legal requirements. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and regularly update a staffing plan with assigned hiring managers to identify current and expected open positions
  • Partner with hiring managers to establish job requirements, assessment strategies, competencies, and to set a recruiting plan for each opening
  • Conduct training on HR policies, procedures and processes; partner with business leaders to facilitate communication sessions on all shifts in local work locations
  • Partner with management to conduct investigations into concerns and complaints; identify, implement and provide a written summary of immediate and systemic solutions
  • Work with managers on appropriate performance intervention strategies; assist in developing performance improvement plans and documentation
  • Perform other duties and projects as needed by HR leadership or DC business partners
  • Serve as the initial point of HR contact for associates and leaders requiring support on employee relations and performance management issues; partner with leaders to identify fair, legal and effective solutions that resolve concerns and mitigate organizational risk
  • Conduct new employee orientation for associates
  • Identify and use several resources and techniques to source, post, and identify qualified candidates such as employee referrals, LinkedIn, social networking, associations, college job boards, career fairs, and professional networks.
  • Support other HR functions and activities, including benefits and payroll in local work locations.
  • Provide HR policy and procedural interpretation and guidance

  • Leads by example in following the Company Code of Business Conduct (Ethics), all applicable tenants of the Lacey Act and all other applicable laws, policies and procedures. Immediately reports all concerns to the appropriate party.
  • Multistate experience preferred

  • Ability to speak, understand and write English required; proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting information and ideas and responding to questions from co-workers, vendors, clients and customers


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university, required

Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:

  • 3-4 years HR Business Partner experience, with a at least 2 years in employee relations or recruiting, required
  • Prior experience supporting distribution operations in a multi-shift environment, preferred

Computer Skills / Special Equipment Knowledge:

  • Knowledgeable in reporting on data from an HRIS or other data sources
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
