We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our dynamic team that is committed to delivering training and workforce development support across the mental health and addiction field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership, workforce development and adult learning, and team building.


About the Position:


The HR Training Manager will supervise and work alongside a team of specialists to drive measurable results for the agency in areas such as employee performance and leadership development. This position will help create goals and design, develop, and implement custom-made learning solutions for internal training and organizational development.


The role requires the exercise of critical thinking, discretion, and independent judgment to collaborate with department managers, project stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand learning requirements, translate those requirements into deliverable and effective learning experiences, and to deliver instruction, coaching, and strategic support to drive agency improvement through learning. In addition, this person interacts as an agency ambassador of ODMHSAS and an advocate of services in increasing employee engagement and agency effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelors degree plus four years of professional level experience in adult learning or organizational development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of related experience for each year of the required education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting the possession of a master’s degree in public administration, communication, education, human resources or a closely related field for one year of the required experience.


Preference may be given to those with one or more of the following:


  • Advanced degree or certification in instructional design, adult learning, organizational psychology, or related field.
  • Training experience in a behavioral health-setting.


Special Requirements:


  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position.
