Job Description

HR Intern - Human Resources

$18/hour

This is a 16 week (15 hours per week ) internship with the ability to work remotely from anywhere in North Dakota.

Use your HR and marketing knowledge to drive good talent to the State’s largest agency. Build your resume as an HR Intern with ND Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

As our HR Intern, you will be a part of the Talent Acquisition team and will focus on recruitment.

In this internship, you will be exposed to all areas and functions of Talent Acquisition, focusing primarily on recruitment outreach. You’ll build relationships and share the story of DHHS with college/university and community partners. You will coordinate in-person and virtual events, create and maintain prospect tracking tools, as well as develop marketing materials and social media content.

To succeed in this position , you enjoy connecting with others and learning their story. You must have a curious and creative nature, along with an ability and willingness to learn new skills. You should be able to clearly communicate information through social media to individuals with varying degrees of understanding. Furthermore, you must be able to complete projects on deadline with short notice. You are comfortable using Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as the various social channels.

To be considered for this position, you must be a full-time junior or senior enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Business, Marketing or another related field. You must submit unofficial transcripts and demonstrate that your GPA is above 2.0 out of 4.0 scale.

DHHS’s Talent Acquisition team leads initiatives and strategies to build, deploy and maintain an effective agency-wide talent pipeline to secure the right talent.

Location: ND DHHS utilizes a blended workplace model. Depending on the role, employees may work from home, onsite or both. This position may work from home anywhere within North Dakota with a willingness to travel for team meetings and to service delivery sites as needed.
