Job Description
Position Summary


The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for the administrative functions within the HR department including but not limited to employee files, HRIS, onboarding, benefits and recruiting administrative functions. This role will support the overall People Operations team but will focus more heavily in the areas of benefits, leave administration, offboarding and reporting.


Essential Functions


  • Maintain and update employee database records and information including new hires, terminations, transfers, or changes; ensure record accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist with HR communication including but not limited to new hire introductions, HRIS homepage content creation and maintenance, and HR event announcements
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Supervise the setup and assignment of office equipment for new hires with the help of external IT support
  • Assists with the organizing and planning of employee engagement and community engagement events
  • Complete employment verifications for current employees
  • Conduct 30-day check-ins with new hires and escalate any concerns to the appropriate parties in a timely manner
  • Participate in the creation of company culture content for social media outlets
  • Maintain and update current job descriptions and job postings as needed
  • Conduct background checks and facilitate any other pre-employment testing to ensure compliance with regulations and policy
  • Manage pre-hire and post-hire onboarding process; coordinate and schedule new hire onboarding, IT orientation, and first day meetings
  • Assist with benefits administration to ensure timely enrollment of benefits for new hires and processing of benefit changes and terminations


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Dedicated team player with a customer-service approach, friendliness and ability to build relationships
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to handle confidential data and information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and efficiently within a team
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources best practices, policies, procedures and federal and state laws


Physical Demands and Work environment


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 25 pounds.  
  • This job operates primarily in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.  


Travel Required


  • Occasional travel to site locations may be expected


Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, or related field or equivalent experience is required
  • Previous HR experience is a plus
