Job Description
Basic Job Function:Supervise work activities of housekeeping staff in providing friendly, attentive, and timely service along with ensuring that rooms meet our high standard of cleanliness, in alignment with the expectations of Forbes standards, and are properly presented. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures. Minimum Requirements: Minimum two (2) years housekeeping experienceResort housekeeping and supervisory experience helpfulHigh School Diploma or equivalent credentialsCollege degee preferredKnowledge of Spanish desirable but not essentialExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalBasic proficiency in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, and Outlook helpfulValid Georgia Driver's LicenseMust have a favorable driving historyCompany policy requires that one must be 21 years of ago or older to drive a company vehicleKnowledge of AS400 helpfulConsistently aspires to fulfill our core Company values (Benevolence, Commitment, Compassion, Fairness, Integrity, Quality, Reliability & Teamwork)Exhibits the Sea Island Five-Star Behavior Standards with guests, members and co-workersMust possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectivelyMust be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesMust be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysReport to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy Tasks/Responsibilities: Assist in interviewing candidate for open positionsAssist establishing housekeeping weekly staff schedulesEnsure all housekeeping employees driving a company vehicle have been per-approved by Human ResourcesEnsure all housekeeping employees driving a company vehicle have Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) order and reviewed by Human ResourcesResponsible for monitoring the up keep of company vehicleTrain and audit staff’s telephone etiquetteConduct a kick off (DSQ) meeting every morningSupervise Housekeeping staff in the absence of the managerSupport and assist Housekeeping in performing cleaning services for special projects and off-sight areas (special housing areas)Assist in training and development of new and present employees in and safe and proper handling, use and application of Housekeeping equipment, materials and suppliesAssist with performance evaluations & reviews for department staffMaintain accurate linen inventory of rooms and linen closets and ensure that all linens are delivered and picked up on timeSupervise and assist with deep cleaningResponsible for overseeing for inspections and service in a timely manner; ensuring rooms are ready by check in time.Inspect cleanliness of all rooms to ensure company standardsMaintain written inspection reports of all rooms(maintenance items)Maintain written inspection forms on each suboordinate (job performance)Provide clear and concise feedback to suboordinates concerning job performanceAssist in the creation, planning and implementation of department programs, procedures and employee goalsResponsible for one on one meeting with employees to review job and goals performanceResponsible for coaching and counseling employees on job performanceResponsible for updating the Office Coordinator on room statusMaintain accurate guest information in the AS400 systemFilingAssist in maintaining accurate and up to date Task Inventory and Breakdowns per positionMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding areaLearn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and MembersEnsure all suboordinates are in accordance with grooming standards and dress code policies on a daily basisEnsure all lost and found items are handled according to policyAssist in establishing and maintaining recognition programsAssist the department in reaching financial goalsMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s abilityIf applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership Physical Requirements: Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsIf applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazardsAbility to maintain compliance with Sea Island’s Company Resort Professional Image Policy
