The Host/Hostess/Food Runner is responsible for assisting the Dining Room Manager with the overall operation, coordination, appearance and maintenance of the dining area and waitress station and ensuring that courteous and efficient services are delivered.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
1. Responsible for arranging seating accommodations and greeting residents, guests, and staff while maintaining a friendly environment.
2. Maintains the physical appearance of the dining room area and waitress stations including table pedestals, chairs, rugs, drapes, flooring tiles, light fixtures, etc.
3. Maintains the appearance of dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, centerpieces, etc.
4. Greets and seats residents and guests as they arrive for meal periods.
5. Maintains pertinent and appropriate resident and staff attendance records, reservations, incident reports, schedules, special functions, and assists in performing computerized resident billing transactions as needed.
6. Advises the Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status.
7. Assists bus and wait staff on the floor when needed and receives an over-all consensus on resident feed-back and satisfaction.
8. Delivers orders to appropriate tables and serves guests.
9. Delivers food to apartments as needed.
10. Clears dishes and resets tables.
11. Responds to all resident/guest requests.
12. Assists wait staff with opening setup and closing cleanup.
Other Duties:
1. Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
2. Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
3. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas.
4. Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
5. Completes all assigned cleaning tasks.
6. Participates in cost control measures.
7. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
8. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be 16 years of age or older.
2. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
3. Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and other outside contacts.
4. Sedgebrook is a LCS Community, compliance with the LCS COVID-19 Policy is required for this position as it is for all LCS Community positions.
