We’re currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hospice South Team based out of Augusta. This position is available for 32-40 per week. The schedule is day shift including weekend rotation.


Position Highlights


  • $15,000 Sign-On Bonus potential for nurses with at least 1 year of RN experience (New MGH hires only. Rehires within 1 year are not eligible. Bonus is paid out over 3 years as long as the employee stays in the job for at least 30 hours per week.)
  • Flexibility and autonomy when scheduling patient visits


The Ideal Candidate Will Have


  • 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferred
  • Previous homecare, hospice, CCU, or ED experience, helpful
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record, required
  • A current license as a Registered Nurse in Maine or licensed from a compact state, required
  • Strong technology/computer skills and previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.



Develops a plan of care based on the priorities of balancing quality of life, relieving suffering, controllingsymptoms, and optimizing functional capacity. Implements and evaluates patient care plans based on patientassessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicatespatient condition as appropriate.


Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.


Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.


Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
