Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a per diem Historechnician to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators. Our vision is to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to those within our local communities, creating a positive impact for each individual that walks through our doors. This person is responsible for performing routine and non-routine activities involved in histologic preparations. Troubleshoots minor equipment failures, prepares reagents, solutions, and control slides. Prepares reports and ensures that quality control criteria are approved by the pathologist. May provide training and modification of SOP’s pertaining to Special Stains.

What you need:
- Education: Associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program within the last 5 years or at least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both), or an associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry(must include credit hours in both), AND one year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology (clinical, veterinary, industry or research) laboratory in the U.S., Canada or an accredited laboratory* within the last ten years.
- Experience: 1 yr experience as a Histotechnician.
- Certification: HT ASCP required.
- Job Skills: Must have experience in the following areas: Fixation, Microtomy, Processing, Staining, IHC
