Job Summary
Are you dexterous? Are you interested in acquiring knowledge and skills in pathology and scientific research processes? We are currently seeking a Histology Technician Co-Op for Fall Semester 2023. In addition to being part of the largest independent nonprofit research and development organization, this position will provide the candidate with hands on experience in our histology laboratory in the areas of but not limited to sample receiving, histology processing, and adherence to client, GLP and FDA regulations. This position is located 100% onsite in Columbus, Ohio.
Responsibilities
Intern activities may include some or all of the following:
- Performing histological H&E stain and cover slipping.
- Performing routine histological tissue processing, embedding and microtomy.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment, performing quality control tests, keeping records and inventories.
- Participating in feedback and coordinating with other team members.
Key Qualifications
- Ability to carry out and document experiments consistently, according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
- Must be currently pursuing a BA/BS in Biology or a science-related field.
- Must be U.S. citizen
- Experience with Basic laboratory techniques/practices
- Capability to work as a contributing team member within a fast moving/dynamic regulated environment.
