Position: Seasonal Garden Center Assistant
Wage Starts at $14.00
Customer Service and Maintenance (Seasonal): Loading customer vehicles, sweeping and emptying trash are core functions of this position. This position is also involved in receiving and tagging of merchandise. This position reports directly to the Garden Center Manager and Garden Center Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist customers in loading and unloading merchandise and bagged product into their vehicles.
Receive and price product.
Clean, stock and maintain garden center grounds, including watering plants, emptying trash, etc.
Operate standard tools and landscape equipment; e.g. shovel, screwdriver, hammer and drill.
Assemble patio furniture and display fixtures.

Able to follow specific instructions and work direction.
Able to communicate respectfully with coworkers and customers.
Self-Starter, who can work independently if needed.
Skill in establishing priorities and managing both workload and time wisely.
Willingness to learn and perform duties beyond the scope of this job description,
Perform various duties as assigned by the Manager and Supervisor.
Work Environment:
Ability to work on feet for long periods of time outside in various elements, and able to frequently push or pull moderately heavy objects (minimum lifting requirement is 50lbs.)
Potential exposure to slippery surfaces and allergy irritants.
