Job Description

DETAILS: High Variance Manufacturing Production Manager

Title: Production Manager

LOCATION: **North Huntsville, AL

WORK ENVIRONMENT: High Variance Lean Manufacturing

COMPENSATION: $90k - $105k plus bonus and a strong benefits package



SUMMARY:

We are searching for a key Production Manager for an industry-leading manufacturing operation. The role of Production Manager entails overseeing production activities with the aim of attaining efficient and effective manufacturing processes. It is crucial to accurately interpret and implement company policies and guidelines to achieve and uphold optimal performance standards pertaining to process, quality, and quantity.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the development of value stream employees and coordinate succession planning within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Provide leadership to the value stream team, aiming to improve operational efficiency, manage working capital effectively, and achieve financial success.
  • Set production goals within value streams, actively striving to achieve quality and productivity metrics. Maintain open lines of communication with the sales team, addressing any issues or changes. Act as the facility representative in relation to production.
  • Direct the operations of value streams in accordance with established policies, principles, and procedures set by group and corporate management, thereby improving and optimizing operations.
  • Foster positive relationships with all levels of the organization, encouraging a strong work ethic, maintaining high morale, and promoting participatory management.
  • Establish, maintain, and adapt production requirements and efficiencies to meet business demands, ensuring the optimal utilization of inventory, facilities, and personnel.
  • Develop and implement systems and protocols to ensure effective manufacturing processes that focus on productivity, quality improvement, safety, value engineering, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with customers, customer service representatives, and engineering to assess and enhance product quality.
  • Coordinate all employee relations activities with Human Resources, including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, complaints, scheduling, training, and development.
  • Cultivate a continuous improvement culture by applying Lean concepts to product development and departmental management.
  • Lead and manage multiple value stream supervisors in day-to-day operations, requiring collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, Lean/CI, Quality, and other departments to maximize quality and cost-effectiveness within specified timeframes.


Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred but additional experience will also be considered

· Experience with lean manufacturing principles and processes preferred

· 3+ years of relevant lead/supervisory experience; 1 year as a Manager

· Experience with lean manufacturing principles and processes preferred

· 5+ years of Production related experience
