Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Highly skilled and driven mechanic to service and repair heavy equipment. Experience in diesel knowledge along with troubleshooting, repair and diagnostics on all types of equipment including skid loaders, excavators and medium to heavy duty equipment. Employee must have strong work ethic and manage multiple repairs at once. Technicians will be able to diagnose equipment and work with minimum supervision to repair machines. Have a working knowledge of machine operation and specific techniques and operations.


POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Demonstrate high degree of proficiency and accuracy with repairs
  2. Fill out accurate work orders and all other paperwork that applies
  3. Run computer-based diagnostics on a variety of machines
  4. Maintain regular communication with all team members
  5. Maintain company tools in working order and return to proper storage
  6. Work in team environment with a positive attitude
  7. Work with team members to ensure high quality work
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  9. Perform routine preventative maintenance
  10. Manage multiple repairs at once
  11. Strive to grow in mechanical areas of machine repair
  12. Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing a safe work environment and take an active role in maintaining a safe work environment
  13. Maintain a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical fuel systems and/or charging systems, etc
  14. Comply with all company policies and procedures found in employee handbook
  15. Must follow handbook regarding dress code for the service department
  16. Other duties as assigned


POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Walking, must be able to walk up to 500 yards
  2. Lifting and carrying, must be able to carry a 50-pound toolbox up to several hundred feet. Must be able to lift radiator, water pump, and starter hydraulic pump, floor jack, etc.
  3. Must be able to exert 150 pounds of force required for pulling and pushing of components
  4. Must be able to exert 100 pounds of force through leverage to operate a garage jack, wrench, ratchet, etc.
  5. Physically fit – must be able to

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum high school/GED education and prefer three years of experience in construction equipment maintenance and service repair
  2. Must be flexible and highly organized with the ability to work independently
  3. Must be honest, respectful and trustworthy and demonstrate sound work ethics
  4. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, preferred CDL and forklift certification
  5. Own proper tools (attached list)
  6. Knowledge of hydraulics, hydrostat, engines, electrical, fuel systems, and/or charging systems
  7. Willingness to learn
  8. Strong oral and written communication skills
  9. Exhibit a cheerful presence and teamwork skills
  10. Must pass background check at time of hire
