Our client is an $800mn+ fund looking to expand its presence in the HealthTech space. This candidate will be working directly with the Founder as well as another seasoned Partner respected in the industry to help cover all areas of healthcare – Healthcare IT, MedTech, HealthTech, Healthcare Services, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Tools, Diagnostics, Digital Health and adjacencies. The group has a new $300mn to invest from. Great opportunity to build something without the complications of a true startup fund.
This role is an opportunity for the candidate to work on an exceptional investment team to execute investment decisions and strategy, advise existing portfolio companies on route-to-market and commercialization strategies, and originate and develop new theses to help shape the future of healthcare technology innovation.
The role is designed to increase responsibilities over time with a growing team.
Responsibilities
- Stay current on key trends in healthcare technology and represent Digitalis at industry conferences
- Develop and support near and long-term investment thesis development for select opportunity areas of interest
- Become an expert in novel and emerging business models, the healthcare regulatory landscape, and technology areas of interest
- Complete detailed qualitative assessments, including customer discovery interviews, market mapping, and industry analysis
- Identify and interview industry subject matter experts, key opinion leaders, physicians, and management from early-stage companies – and use this external network to diligence new opportunities and support portfolio companies
- Complete detailed quantitative assessments, including market sizing, and building and analyzing financial models
Qualifications
- Hard work ethic, attention to detail, self-motivated, organized, intellectually curious
- Strong writing skills and a well-developed understanding of financial concepts and modeling skills
- A knowledge and passion for the early-stage healthcare ecosystem
- Experience in healthcare management consulting, investing, or a relevant operating role.
- Interest in partnering with and supporting early-stage entrepreneurs and portfolio companies
