Salary: $50,400 plus benefits


Overview:


The CDC Foundation is seeking a Health Program Specialist I to support the Division of Medical Cannabis at the Illinois Department of Public Health. The Division of Medical Cannabis is responsible for processing applications from IL residents for registration cards allowing for the purchase of medical cannabis. This position will primarily work on the processing of these applications.


Qualifications:


  • Experience working with patient health information
  • Skilled in managing multiple technologies and quick to learn new technical skills
  • Six months of experience interpreting medical cannabis program guidelines for program eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree preferred OR at least two years of professional experience in a closely related position acceptable
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and experience working with virtual platforms
  • Working knowledge of the Illinois Medical Cannabis Patient Program


Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, including maintaining productivity standards and patient confidentiality
  • Maintains and updates electronic registry file; follows up with applicants to request missing or incorrect documentation
  • Works with confidential patient health information
  • Responds to daily inquiries regarding program policies
  • Provides data management by entering patient information, ensuring completeness and accuracy of entries
  • Performs review of Medical Cannabis applications and renewals received under the guidelines of the Medical Cannabis program; follows up registry application results through written communications with physicians, patients, and caregivers

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the


CDC Foundation and the Illinois Department of Public Health, in order to best support the State of Illinois in their public health programming.


This position is currently a hybrid position. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required.
