Job Description
Shift: Full time, Days, Rotating Saturday mornings, 40 hrs/week


Reporting to the assigned Practice Manager, with accountability to the Clinical Supervisor, serves as assistant to the clinical team by performing routine tasks, patient care activities as designated and facilitates patient throughput under the supervision of the clinical team.


  • Keeps a safe patient environment.
  • Cleans and maintains exam and treatment rooms and stocks clinical supplies and equipment. Escorts patients to exam/treatment rooms.
  • Provides a safe and therapeutic patient environment that maintains patient’s respect, dignity and confidentiality of health information.
  • Performs routine tasks to assist the primary care provider and care team in patient care related activities. Practicing good customer relations, collects and documents temperature, pulse, blood pressure, height and weight.
  • Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs basic clerical duties such as filing, taking and delivering messages, data entry, as assigned.



  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision while exercising attention to details and independent judgment within stated guidelines.
  • Ability and willingness to float between multiple Physician Office locations when needed.
  • Ability to maintain high customer service standards.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, team members, and physicians and to maintain team-oriented relationships with senior management, managers and staff.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn and effectively utilize department specific software systems.
  • Ability to effectively perform or learn technical skills to perform essential functions within allocated time frame.
  • The level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of High School or the equivalent.
  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or certification within 90 days of hire.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Requires auditory acuity adequate to converse with patients and receive directions from physicians and coworkers who are wearing masks. 
  • Required visual acuity adequate to assist patients
  • Requires continuous standing and walking for most of shift. Requires frequent (3-6 times per hour) bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and overhead reaching and frequent lifting and carrying of 15lbs. To 30lbs. Requires occasional (10-15 times per day) lifting and carrying 30lbs. To 70lbs. And occasional pushing/pulling of up to 300lbs. In wheeled equipment.
  • Flow of work requires concentrated mental, visual, and auditory attention most of the time. Concentrated mental, visual, and auditory attention combined with manual dexterity is required for sustained periods of time.


WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Conditions are acceptable. At least one disagreeable element or hazard is frequently present in the environment, i.e. infectious disease, while several disagreeable elements of hazards are occasionally present.
  • The flow of work and character of duties involves normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time.
