This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining public areas, guest room corridors, and office spaces of the Hershey Lodge. This position will be responsible for the completion of daily departmental projects, as well as assisting in the stocking, and weekly / monthly recording of guest supplies inventory.

This position participates in the post-offer employment testing program.

Job Functions:

• Delivering clean and dirty linens to and from sleeping floors, linen closets, and main staging areas;
• Extracting and shampooing of public areas, guest room and office carpets;
• Cleaning and maintenance of vacuums each day;
• Reporting any damaged or missing items, as well as reporting unsafe conditions; Providing exceptional customer service to Lodge guests;
• Collecting trash throughout guest public spaces and offices;
• Loading and unloading delivery trucks;
• Completing assigned projects relating to the department, inclusive of, but not limited to the removal of furniture and other amenities from guest rooms and public area corridors, service room attendant vacuums, and liaise with engineering on equipment and furniture repair;
• Performing all other duties as may be assigned within the scope of Head Houseperson
• High and low dusting and polishing;
• Vacuuming of all public areas, guest room corridors, and office spaces; Sweeping and mopping floors, vending areas, public stairwells and offices;
• Maintaining and detailing all dining outlets, bathrooms, and locker areas (inclusive of employee areas);
• Performing heavy or out-of-reach work for housekeepers in guest rooms;
• Moving and rearranging furniture;
• On occasion may be requested to strip linen and/or clean guest rooms;
• Responding to guest requests and delivering amenities to guest rooms;

Basic Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Must be at least 18 years or older;

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience operating a scissor lift, extractor/shampooer, high/low speed floor buffer, and power washer, or willing and able to learn;
• Ability to give directions to property rooms/locations;
• Ability to multi-task;
• Previous housekeeper or houseperson experience a plus;
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision; Professional guest attitude, well groomed, and appearance in compliance with Lodge standards;
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle to transport trash to designated areas on property;
• Ability to understand and comply with instructions, both written and verbal;
• Ability to safely use approved chemicals, meeting OSHA standards

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Shift start times may be modified based on occupancy/ project demands.

  • Lift up to 20 pounds, push up to 75 pounds, carry up to 20 pounds, reach forward, reach overhead, stoop, kneel, crouch, handle objects, grasp and operate controls
• Proper footwear to be provided by employee Shift: 8:30 am -5:00 pm.
• Lift 21 – 50 pounds, carry 11 – 50 pounds, climb stairs, grasp firmly, and crawl.
• This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet schedule requirements, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
• May be required to work in extreme hot or cold conditions;
