Job Description

The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring full-time or part-time Room Attendants to join our team at The Westin Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. As a Room Attendant, you will join our Housekeeping team and work to ensure the property is kept organized, sanitized, and up to company standards.

Pay

Minimum pay rate: $15.50 / hour

Responsibilities

  • Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors and steam clean or shampoo carpets.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Deliver cribs, rollaway beds, additional amenities, and any other item as requested.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
  • Transport clean linens to housekeeping carts and storage closets. Keep closets stocked, clean, and organized.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Service, clean, or supply restrooms.
  • Remove dirty linens from guest rooms and transport them to the laundry room.

Qualifications

  • At least one year working in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent walking and standing for the entire length of shift and climbing of stairs.
  • The environment may result in exposure to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals.
