Do you love taking on big challenges that require exceptionally creative solutions? Do you deeply understand how an incredible camera experience should work? As part of our Camera Technologies group, you’ll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You’ll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You’ll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we’ll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in reasoning about attacks and countermeasures, and about value trade-offs of assets and countermeasures.
  • Strong communication skills with experience authoring formal specification documents, and the ability to communicate cross-functionally.
  • You will have an understanding of and ability to communicate about ASIC/hardware and software architecture with designers.
  • You will have experience implementing security-related systems into production. Working familiarity with standard cyphers and protocols (AES, HMAC, DH, DSA, EC).
  • You will be willing to travel internationally.

Description

You will interact cross-functionally within Apple to implement and validate our security strategy for image sensors and related silicon. Interact with component vendors to understand how they are meeting requirements, and validate their implementations. Develop methodologies for internally and externally validating system requirements. Develop and publish documentation of our security strategy, and report on measures of sensor quality, especially as it relates to security within the system. Travel to vendor sites as required for implementation reviews.

Education & Experience

A BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required. MS or PhD is preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Software design experience is helpful.
  • Experience implementing or using image sensors is helpful.
  • Hardware design experience (Verilog, RTL synthesis, circuit design) is helpful.

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300 and $241,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
