Department: Catapult New Business

Reports To: SVP, Accounts

To do this, we design and implement customized new business programs for marketing services providers, differentiating their brands, generating demand, and creating growth opportunities by building solid relationships with their prospects.


Our clients include recognized leaders across all marketing services categories from brand and advertising to digital, direct, design, research and media. Our clients are of varying organizational size and ownership, all with the common desire to grow through new client acquisition.

  • Deliver qualified new business opportunities
  • Competitively position an agency and their capabilities in the marketplace


Position Overview: The Group Director is responsible for developing relationships with partner agencies, managing Business Development Directors, and implementing new business plans across our diverse client portfolio of national advertising and marketing services agencies. B2B marketing responsibilities also include strategy development, campaign optimization and execution.


Goals: Group Directors are expected to help generate Qualified Meetings and Opportunities for each agency client and, most importantly, retain client relationships in a positive and profitable manner.


Success Measurements: Group Directors will be measured on:

  • Their success in helping Business Development Directors meet and exceed their Qualified Meeting and Opportunity goals for each of their respective clients
  • Their success in helping their agencies close business during the agency’s contract period
  • Their success in building strong relationships with their respective agency clients


Essential Job Functions:

  • Review daily marketing news and intelligence from a selection of sources, where relevant stories are highlighted and investigated for client new business opportunities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a customized new business development strategy based on positioning and relevance to client’s offerings to target markets.
  • Monitor activity and evaluate program strategy monthly to improve program results.
  • Ensure client new revenue goals and objectives are met and are linked to appropriate messaging, targeting, and outreach channels.
  • Prepare weekly, quarterly, and annual outcomes reports.
  • Manage new business development activities for up to five Business Development Directors and up to 20 accounts.


Requirements:

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline
  • 8+ years experience in B2B inside sales/new business development
  • Agency experience preferred


Minimum:

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the marketing services landscape, and have held a business development or senior account director position or revenue generation position in the past, and has excellent client service, project management and quantitative skills. Candidates must be detail-oriented, able to effectively manage large initiatives, lead multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, and work well independently and within a team.

  • Product Knowledge: Thorough understanding of product and services of the group of companies including features, benefits and relevant performance statistics including ROI.
