Job Description
Gitwit is looking for an experienced Graphic Designer who is ready to join one of the most thoughtful and talented design teams in the region. Our mission is to free innovators like you from all the meaningless time spent working in environments that limit creativity so that you can work on projects where your impact can be experienced firsthand. For this role, we’ll be making selections based on strong portfolios of memorable web experiences.

A Little Bit About Us

Gitwit was established in 2008 with the goal of deeply understanding challenges faced by humans and creating experimental solutions to solve those in memorable ways. Our downtown office is a fiercely creative environment, where egos are replaced with dialogues that push our work toward greatness. We are made up of a team of writers, designers, animators, and strategists who are assembled in various combinations for each project. These micro-teams become creative machines that manage themselves autonomously and work directly for client needs rather than a boss’ preference.

Over the past few years, our design team of six has worked on a huge variety of projects, including restaurant branding packages, predictive analytics dashboards, product packaging on Amazon, and startup websites. We are ready to add more firepower to this team and hope to find some of the best design talent to become a part of what we are building.

You Are

  • A thoughtful learner. You obsess over every use case for the website projects you design, always finding new ways to evolve sites based on user needs.
  • A designer in the details. You know that the best work requires close attention to detail, from pixel-perfect icons to subtle site animations.
  • A user journey junkie. You always put yourself in the user’s shoes and design to their needs. Every marketing website and product interface is designed to push users to specific actions through well-planned UX that you brainstorm with the design team.
  • A trend follower/creator. You follow the top web design feature hubs and constantly gather website inspiration. You save color palettes to test out in designs, icon sets to utilize, and interface layouts that organize information in unique ways. You understand the trends and work to stay a step ahead of them.
  • A front-end experimenter. You have experience building custom designed websites in platforms like Webflow, Squarespace, or Shopify. You have a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JS and are comfortable interfacing with the development teams with which we collaborate.
  • A humble critic. You demand and freely give critique in search of the most impactful design approaches.
  • An experienced practitioner. Your obsession with website design is backed by a portfolio that exhibits an evolving skill set. This experience gives you the confidence to pitch your ideas to coworkers and clients.

You Will

  • Rationalize design decisions against business goals.
  • Share rough work early for critique before perfecting designs.
  • Design marketing websites and digital product interfaces.
  • Enjoy collaborating with other designers, writers, and clients.
  • Work comfortably in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketch.
  • Explain your designs in a story-driven format, focused on the audience’s perspective.
  • Implement those designs into Webflow and other CMS platforms with ease.
  • Understand great messaging and how to bring that to life through design.

You Might

  • Have a side hustle as a creative outlet.
  • Be active in Tulsa’s design community through organizations like ADCT.
  • Shoot photography in your free time.
  • Have a working knowledge of front-end code.
  • Work within Webflow, Shopify, or Squarespace.

The Details

We are looking for someone who has a college degree and at least a few years of experience. That being said, our focus will be more on cultural fit than expertise. In exchange for your hard work and commitment to helping us innovate, we will:

  • Arm you with your choice of technology
  • Provide you with 100% paid medical benefits
  • Offer you an environment where you can learn more than you would anywhere else
  • Place no restrictions on your vacation time
  • Pay you a competitive wage
