As a Graphic Designer, you will play a pivotal role in helping to create visually appealing and engaging marketing materials while also providing administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of marketing initiatives.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our marketing department. This position combines creative design skills with administrative duties to support our marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for marketing.

  • Proven experience as a graphic designer in a business setting, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and styles.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and strategies.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML/CSS is a plus.
  • 2+ years' experience within a business setting
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms and experience in managing social media accounts for businesses.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Experience in working with UI/UX design is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

What to Expect

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor and manage social media platforms, creating and scheduling posts, engaging with the audience, and tracking social media performance.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating marketing events, such as trade shows, conferences, and product launches, including logistics, promotional materials, and post-event evaluations.
  • Design and develop visually captivating marketing materials, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, advertisements, banners, social media graphics, and website graphics.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the company's website, ensuring that all graphics and visuals are up to date and aligned with the brand identity.
  • Create and update templates for various marketing materials to ensure consistency and efficiency in design production.
  • Use industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create and edit graphics, illustrations, and other visual elements.
  • Design and develop visually captivating marketing materials, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, advertisements, banners, social media graphics, and website graphics.
  • Conduct market research to gather data and insights for marketing campaigns, assisting in competitor analysis and identifying emerging trends.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and agencies to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with the product team to ensure consistency in design aspects that align with the overall brand standards.
  • Support the marketing team in organizing and executing marketing campaigns, including scheduling, coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and tracking project progress.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to understand project requirements, target audience, and brand guidelines to create impactful designs that effectively convey our message.

Additional Details

  • On rare occasions, this position may require some after-work hours due to workload or a tight deadline.
  • This is a hybrid, full-time position. Time spent between the Madison, South Dakota office and your home location.
  • While SBS does offer a flexible work environment, the standard days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT.
  • This role would require occasional travel.
