PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline
- Competency in Illustrator
- Create and design print and digital materials using InDesign
- Collaborate with the Senior Graphic Designer and Communications Team to develop design concepts
- Retouch and manipulate images in Photoshop
Anticipated Hiring Rate:$16.00 - $18.00 Hourly
Hours/Days: Part time, flexible schedule during business hours of 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
The Graphic Designer Intern is responsible for assisting in the design of print and digital materials. The intern will be working on various communication projects with an emphasis on graphic design. This internship is designed to help students learn how to use their creative skills while developing new ideas that will enhance brand awareness.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Interns must be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student enrolled in an accredited institution and majoring in a related field. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Interns may arrange the internship through the education institution on a for-credit basis. Interns must be available for a pre-determined minimum of hours per week June- September.
Offers of employment will be contingent upon successfully passing a criminal history background check prior to beginning employment with Washington County.
- Strong creative and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals
- Experience with InDesign, Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
- Promote a diverse, culturally competent, and respectful workplace.
- Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media
- Retouch and manipulate images
- Create and design print and digital materials
- Receive feedback from the Senior Graphic Designer and Communications Team and make necessary changes
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with the Senior Graphic Designer and Communications Team to develop design concepts
- Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline
- Ability to problem solve and work independently or as part of a team
1-8 are considered essential duties.
