Description
Kentucky State Police is the premier, full-service law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Graphic Design Intern is a highly skilled team member within the Public Affairs Branch that will serve in a support role to the Graphic Design Coordinator by educating and informing the public about agency initiatives through visual formats. This individual will have the opportunity to use their experience and creativity to help promote agency initiatives while developing graphic design projects that will be both informative and entertaining.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in content creation and distribution for National Safety campaigns
  • Assist in editing text and imagery in digital graphic design layouts utilizing necessary computer software
  • Assist in live event setups and breakdown.
  • Live event coverage including camera operation, audio mixer operation, teleprompter operation, and streaming.
  • Assist in media post-production including printing and mounting signage
  • Archive digital graphic designs for future edits and reuse.
  • Learn to use electronic media for public service announcements, recruitment efforts, media distribution, documentation and/or educational and training applications.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the KY State Police Public Affairs Branch.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience with design, editing and project management of digital media.
  • Experience, understanding and working knowledge of Adobe products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat as well as general knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to take direction, work independently confidently and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to think creatively and turn ideas into digital content for advertising.
  • Examples of personal projects or working portfolio.
