Grant Administrator (Hybrid/Remote)

Med-Orthopedic Surgery - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (23005782)
Performs pre- and post-award accounting duties for complex grants and contracts. Prepares, negotiates, and monitors grants, contracts, and budgets. Maintains award-related schedules, prepares complex government applications and reports, and interprets policy and procedure. Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, resolves complex issues, and reviews routine financial documents. Develops and implements accounting techniques and procedures for operational improvements and assists with managing special projects and preparing operating budgets.

Essential Functions Post Award Administration: Manages, develops, and Monitors budgets and expenditures for multiple grants and investigators. Oversees the regular preparation of the research operating budget within their respective labs. Reviews monthly expense reports and ensures that corrections are made for improper charges. Process documentation to establish project subcontract agreements. Work with investigators to process quarterly/annual reports and no-cost extension requests. Meet with investigators to ensure project personnel are appropriately allocated to research projects and make changes as required. Analyzes the financial aspects of the research grants, including the direct and indirect revenue and overhead allocations for funded and unfunded research. Pre-Award Administration: Develop budgets and prepare and submit grants, MTA’s, DUA’s, etc. for faculty. This includes preparing budgets, budget justifications, subcontracts, subaccount approvals, etc. Provides administrative and editorial support to area faculty and staff in the preparation of research grants, contracts, and clinical trials. Analyzes, Monitors, and maintains effort reports for faculty and staff paid from sponsored research accounts. Ensures timely changes to SPAR documents to remain compliant with agency regulations and internal expectations. Monitors these documents against faculty “other support” information.
