The job duties described below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job classification. Description of the Position:
The primary responsibility of the Laundry Attendant is to receive, sort, pre-treat and clean hotel and spa linens in a timely manner, ensuring all linens are clean and free from stains and odors. Laundry staff is also expected to assist in housekeeping duties as needed. Laundry Attendants will be responsible and held accountable for receiving, sorting and folding all guest laundry items, which include linens, terry, blankets, bedspreads, mattress pads, pillows and shower curtains. The Laundry Attendant duties include but are not limited to: Maintain cleanliness of hotel and spa linens by washing, drying and folding guest room towels and bedding. Examine and sort articles to be cleaned, according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required. Load, start and operate washers and driers. Sort and count articles removed from dryers, and fold, wrap, or hang them. Mix and add detergents, bleaches, starches, and other solutions and chemicals to clean, dry, or stiffen articles. Iron or press articles and fabrics using hand irons or pressing machines. Ensure the cleanliness, safety and organization of the hotel laundry room. This job plays a key role in giving the guests a comfortable and enjoyable stay including assisting guests in any manner possible (getting ironing boards, cribs, etc.), and answering questions of all sorts. Above all this position requires a positive attitude and dedication to providing excellent customer service. This position requires the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment. Each employee will be expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Management. All McMenamins employees will also be expected to keep current on all company events, history, and products. Other duties are to be completed as assigned by the Manager on duty.
