Grading Estimator/Pm Jobs

Position Summary:

Under the direction of company Vice President of Estimating and partnership with the field operations team, the Grading Estimator/PM will manage multiple civil site-work projects and bids. The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect job sites in pre-bid and during construction for assessing potential hazards, unexpected complications, or issues
• Supervise the work of operations department including timecard approval, evaluating, and implementing discipline measures
• Must be familiar with an estimating program such as Oman, HCSS, or an equivalent
• Maintain records related to cost and inventory for monthly billing. Prepare monthly billing invoices
• Due to job demands, must be available for 24/7 emergency call-ins
• Verifying permits or any other regulatory compliance
• Provide adequate material and equipment inventories, safety compliance, jobsite inspections
• Manage actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather or emergencies on the jobsites.
• Oversee contract negotiations, revisions, and contract compliance
• Meet with clients to discuss quality control, extra work authorizations, schedules, and billings
• Collaborate with clients, supervisors, and design professionals to resolve problems, complaints and design issues
• Coordinate and schedule work activities with subcontractors and crews based upon client needs in safe, cost-effective manner

REQUIRED Qualifications:

• Driving record must meet company requirements and must have reliable transportation
• Be able to traverse active construction sites in all types of weather conditions
• 5+ years extensive knowledge in estimating Grading and Storm Utility work
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must have extensive earthwork and utility experience
• Experienced in both private and DOT projects, Agtek Earthwork estimating software, Microsoft Project scheduling software and Excel
• Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills
