Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

Primary responsibilities will be to manage Graduate Medical Education Programs and relationships between MAHEC (Mountain Area Health Education Center) and Mission Hospital. GME Hospital Administrator works closely with the GME Institutional office, Program Administrators, Program Directors, the DIO (Designated Institutional Official) and Mission Hospital GME leadership. This role requires highly developed communication, interpersonal skills, judgement, confidentiality, and ability to handle stressful situations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Responsibilities
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills and independent judgement; take initiative in implementation of the program as part of the program leadership decision-making team; show professionalism and integrity in confidential situations.
  • Ability to understand GME program budgets and communicate them with programs.
  • Must be able to organize workload and prioritize deadlines/projects.
  • Responsible for the GME Annual resident survey process. Manage questions, distribution, and collection for each GME/GDE program.
  • Monitors and assists with evaluation benchmarks met for Programs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) program requirements, institutional requirements, and accreditation processes of teaching hospitals.
  • Oversees Workday requirements for tracking faculty hour timesheets, accounts payable, approvals and reimbursement. Monthly ensuring that we are following the affiliation agreements for faculty time.
  • Responsible for managing and tracking GME contracts and affiliation agreements for residency/fellowship programs. Involved in high level contract negotiations with multiple contracting parties including MAHEC, HCA and physician groups.
  • Leads, schedules, and coordinates monthly GME meetings with Mission Leadership, GME and MAHEC residents.
  • Coordinates and organizes Resident/Fellow participation in Mission Hospital committees, joint social events, Wellness initiatives and resident task force liaison.
  • Responsible for tracking GME graduates and development of tracking system.
  • Attends the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMECs)
  • Act as purchasing agent utilizing Workday’s procurement process to purchase materials for programs at the discretion of the Departmental Chair and Residency Program Director.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting: timesheets, work hours, faculty contracts tied to affiliation contracts to endure reimbursement.
  • Assists with special project as needed
  • Financial oversight for all GME programs accreditation, ensuring programs are compliant.
  • Provides input for the development and management of training program expenses budget.
  • Occasional after hours, evening and/or weekend work required
  • GME Division liaison for creating, presentation materials and distributing data within the organization around GME.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with ACGME accreditation, Adult Education, or hospital policy management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or education, or equivalent degree, or six (6) years of management experience in a healthcare system may be considered in lieu of degree.

REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two (2) years of progressive experience in management or supervisory/leadership roles

SCHEDULE:
Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position (Mission Hospital). Typical business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per workweek; weekend, holiday, or evening coverage is occasionally required. Work hours will need to be flexible to respond to special work assignments or evening activities, as requested by the team leader.
