Job Description

Job Purpose: The Global Master Planning Supervisor will oversee the function of scheduling and procurement activities for our manufacturing facilities globally. The Master Scheduler is responsible for balancing production and inventory levels with demand to support targets consistent with customer delivery levels, inventory turns and goals and capacity utilization. You will develop and maintain systems that promote minimum inventory investment that maximizes manufacturing efficiencies. Position requires a self-driven, collaborative, and organized leader able to flourish in fast paced environment. Must be results oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency; must own the business and the results. Should be able to independently organize and

prioritize workload.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, manufacturing, and logistics.

• Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs.

• Leads daily exception reporting and meetings to manage deviations from plan.

• Timely response to inquiries from domestic and overseas colleagues and subordinates

• Utilizes ERP to plan material to assure availability to meet production schedules and optimize inventory.

• Schedule demand based on the product mix and provided accurate lead times to sales department, including 3rd party vendors.

• Assemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan, and the production plan.

• Lead finite scheduling personnel at JMC locations and ensure the establishment of process

blueprints/local process ownership of all finite scheduling responsibilities.

• Manage load leveling and bottlenecks for more accurate scheduling.

• Analyze and report production hours through work centers.

• Establish, measure, monitor and adjust capacity levels to execute all manufacturing schedules.

• Determine available capacity before planned orders are released.

• Resolve scheduling problems by collecting and analyzing information, coordinating solutions.

• Engage in capacity management during sales and operations planning and forecasting.

• Collaborates with sourcing to periodically compare current and anticipated orders with available

inventory of raw materials; uses judgment to anticipate demand for and procure additional supplies needed.

• Provides recommendations to sales and finance for inventory depletion.

• Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of equipment and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.

• Alerts appropriate staff of master schedule changes or delays.

• Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, purchasing, production, and shipping.

• Assists with capacity requirements during the annual operating plan.

• Plans/recommends changes in capacity to hit target levels, which could include recommending location expansion or contraction.

• Plan and recommend location labor adjustment needs and ensure budget targets are achieved by managing direct and overhead variances.

• Sets up and maintains work center and work groups in ERP system.

• Reports on-time delivery for all locations, including 3rd party vendors.

• Performs other related duties, as required.

• Drive continuous improvement and interaction with other departments and contacts to foster greater communication - Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Distribution, Logistics, and Customers.

• Attend and participate in all applicable weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly meetings.


Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree is preferred in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience.


Experience

• At least 2 years’ experience in Scheduling or Operations setting.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge / experience with planning and scheduling in an ERP system

• Outstanding analytical, statistical, and reasoning ability for problem solving.

• Ability to lead improvement of both manual and automated systems.

• Good planning and problem-solving skills with proven track record in achieving results through

teamwork.

• Excellent communication skills with external customers, peers, supervisors, and internal supporting teams globally

• Manage multiple priorities concurrently and deliver accurate and timely results.

• Capacity to learn quickly and prioritize tasks.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (excel, word, PowerPoint); experience working with three

dimensional spreadsheets and complex formulas in Excel, particularly V-lookups and Pivot tables.

• Thoroughly understands factory operations and how to optimize materials and resources that deliver the required output within lead-time at lowest cost.

• Highly motivated, self-starter capable of working and delivering results on own initiative.


Preferred Qualifications

• ERP power user and systems migration experience a plus.

Environment

• Position is located in an office setting and in at-home office.

• Up to 10% of travel is required.

Essential physical requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at one time.
