As a member of indirect procurement team under Global Supply Management (GSM), you will partner with the business, providing your expertise and procurement acumen to drive sound business decisions. Your opportunity to grow and develop in a fast-paced organization is our promise to you.


The Global Category Manager is responsible the development and execution of Sourcing strategies directly related to the travel and expense category. The Global category manager will be directly responsible for managing supplier relationships (e.g., travel agency, ground transportation, airlines, hotel chain partners, credit card, etc.) to ensure performance levels are monitored and managed, strategic program goals are achieved, and continuous improvement and innovation is delivered.


You will oversee high impact cross functional projects driving excellence across travel, credit card and expense categories. Successful delivery requires building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, verbal and written skills and change management skills.


  • Manage supplier relationships (e.g., travel agency, ground transportation, airlines, hotel chain partners, credit card, etc.) to ensure performance levels are monitored, program goals are achieved, and continuous improvement/innovation is delivered.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key executives, global/regional stakeholders, Global Business Services, travelers, and administrative colleagues.
  • Respond to internal customer service issues to ensure reasonable and timely resolution.
  • Manage and monitor process performance measures and ensure best practices and operational improvement actions are implemented.
  • Develop and implement process-driven procedures to improve and simplify the end-to-end Travel and Expense Reimbursement process.
  • Ensure travel & expense technology and programs meet business needs within the framework of corporate policies, compliance obligations, service levels, and cost efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with Global Security to maintain Duty of Care for traveling employees.
  • Manage, review, and update the Global Travel & Expense Reimbursement Policy and the Mobile Device & Service Plan Policy to ensure best practices and business goals are achieved.
  • Drive optimal supplier selection through RFP/RFQ process that drive value. Lead contract and pricing with suppliers.
  • Deliver cost reduction opportunities and manage operational forecast and budget.
  • Ensure integration of key programs and program changes, including policy and process changes are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Develop appropriate business metrics and reports to ensure proper processes and service are in place to meet company business requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and strategic input throughout the global travel, credit card, and expense categories.


Desired Skills And Experience


  • Excellent executive presence and ability to interact directly with C-Suite leaders.
  • 10+ years of professional work experience
  • 5+ years global travel management experience
  • 5+ years of Procurement/Purchasing Experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills. Fluent in relevant contract terms and current travel supply and market dynamics.
  • Keen attention to detail with qualitative and quantitative inputs.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in fast paced environment.
  • Experience with travel & expense management systems and technology (Workday expense management experience a plus!).
  • Experience with vendor relationship management and working with 3rd party providers.
