Job Duties And Responsibilities

We are looking for multi-skilled candidates with a quantitative background for the position of GIS Developer. The GIS Developer must show: a demonstrated knowledge of geospatial concepts and conducting geospatial analyses, an understanding of Web-based mapping technologies and their applications, a demonstrated ability to communicate technical information in non-technical settings, and a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and colleagues in a team environment.

GIS Developer Responsibilities:

• Provide project status reports and attend meetings as necessary.
• Provide specific technical insight and recommendations to teammates as needed.
• Communicate design requirements to technical and non-technical personnel.
• Establish and maintain standards as required and apply industry best practice policies.
• Participate in all phases of technology or application development including requirements gathering, estimating time and costs for phases or tasks, building, testing, and implementation.
• Organize and develop application testing procedures to provide stability and best performance.
• Make presentations to technical and non-technical management and non-management personnel using a variety of tools.
• Design database schemas Conduct GIS analyses and implement GIS solutions using scripting languages.
• Perform full application life cycle development and implementation including design, analysis, coding, testing, and documentation.

Work attire: Business casual

Working hours: This is a full-time position: 40 hours/week. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5 :00 p.m. or 9 :00 a.m. to 6 :00 p.m.

Skills, Experience And Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 4 years as a GIS Developer or related position.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of GIS application development.
• Analytical mindset.
• Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high throughput environment.
• Ability to research and innovate.
• Knowledge of relational database design.
• Proficiency with front-end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and various mapping languages.
• Familiarity with common and GIS-related information system architecture, best practices, implementation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of application and database integration techniques.
• Outstanding quantitative skill set.
• Proficiency with database and programming languages such as MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL in AWS cloud environment and Python.
• Knowledge of system/software development life cycles.
• Knowledge and skill in conducting geospatial analyses.

Salary Range

Compensation: $106,250.00/Year - $125,000.00/Year

Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
