Job Description
Pivot Energy seeks a dynamic and high-energy GIS Analyst to join the Project Development-Origination team to identify sites in current and new markets for community solar projects. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for identifying potential solar sites, working with the team in managing the marketing campaign, and utilize GIS tools to understand market trends and give insight to provide support to the broader Project Development team.
A successful candidate will have experience in GIS and a willingness to learn as part of a team. The candidate must have strong organizational and communication skills and attention to detail. Successful delivery of this role will lead to growth for both the individual and Pivot.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review topography for site identification
  • Organize and maintain files, and project records using Pivot’s internal processes, databases, and project management software
  • Identify preliminary zoning requirements and regulations for AHJ’s
  • Analyze spatial data from utilities, counties, etc through use of ArcGIS software
  • Produce high quality maps and datasets to support the project development team

Competencies

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Demonstrated ability to self-direct and work autonomously
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS
  • At least 1 year of professional experience
  • Professional experience with ESRI suite of applications
  • Comfort with large datasets
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES
  • Experience working with a CRM system
  • Competency with coding (Python, Java, or similar)
  • Experience in the solar industry

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $55,000-$80,000 depending on relevant experience, along with eligibility for the company’s substantial bonus plan, with a target bonus of 50% of annual salary (prorated in first year based on start date). Total annual compensation potential, when including bonus, is $82,500 -$120,000.
