This position provides thoughtful and strategic direction as the Donor Relations team handles four primary areas of programming critical to deepening life-long donor relationships: acknowledgement, recognition, stewardship and accountability. This position plays a critical role in managing the strategy of donor recognition programs in support of a comprehensive fundraising campaign. The position reports to the Director of Donor Relations and works in collaboration with leaders and partners across the Foundation and Medical Center

Essential Job Functions:

  • Commodify naming opportunities to recognize donor generosity. Manage data associated with naming opportunities in Raiser’s Edge, Gift Map, Microsoft Teams, and project tracking system. Conduct regular, proactive audits of naming opportunities and ensure donor transparency during times of transition.
  • Actively participate in benchmarking and “best practice” sharing with local and national colleagues.
  • Set priorities for recognition programs and collaborate on annual program plan and goals. Create business rules, policies, and procedures to support recognition activities. Maintain knowledge base of (and/or current records to support) hospital and satellite facility layouts and tour guides.
  • Oversee recognition display (donor wall) and signage strategy and maintenance across hospital facilities. This is accomplished through extensive data management and integrity, successful liaising with facilities and vendors, management of capital budget requests and consistent communication with key leaders and stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic, tailored recognition proposals and naming agreements in partnership with fundraisers, serving as strategic leader and project manager for ongoing naming opportunity requests. See naming opportunity requests through to completion, including associated signage installation, unveiling events, etc.
  • Understand and support other Donor Relations and Community and Donor Engagement activities and initiatives as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior experience and proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or other similar software required.
  • Discretion with confidential materials required
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as creativity and resourcefulness required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in development work, preferably in a healthcare or higher education setting and/or in stewardship/donor relations.
  • A team-based attitude is necessary to work with internal and external constituencies.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under demanding deadlines are essential.
