Job Description
:
Dewberry is currently seeking a Geospatial Analyst in our Tampa, FL, Charlotte, NC, Fairfax, VA offices with a focus on topobathymetric lidar. Overall responsibility includes working on a team performing detailed analysis of topobathymetric data, Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), Digital Surface Models (DSMs), Lidar derived point cloud, and other QC related rasters to edit and correct point cloud classification across product deliverables. Typical responsibilities are to work on the GIS/IT and Remote Sensing related projects for state and federal clients across the US.

Responsibilities:
REQUIRED skills and experiences :
  • Creating Scripts/Models/Macros in multiple sensor platforms
  • Task Management; Problem resolution; Report writing; Collaboration
  • The ability to analyze point clouds and various geospatial data layers derived from point cloud data.
  • Work with the Product Line Lead to assist in the execution of projects, on time and within budget.
  • An understanding of GIS and Lidar data and concepts including a strong knowledge of various raster and vector data types, coordinate systems, projections, and datums
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight schedules as required
  • Quality Assurance, documentation and providing feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS 10x, ArcPro, and ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
  • Ability to create, edit, and maintain digital elevation mapping products, capture relevant data, and create and manipulate datasets.
  • Experience in multi-sensor processing, manipulation, and production.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
  • Understanding of Lidar production workflow and being able to explain the conceptual basis of Lidar acquisition, processing, and deliverable creation.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
Beneficial skills and education :
  • Industry certifications in Lidar or other Remote Sensing technologies a plus.
  • Education in a Surveying/Geomatics/GIS or related field desired.
  • Working knowledge of Python and/or other programming languages a plus.
  • GDAL Tools, and command line applications highly desirable.
  • Hands on experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field with a focus on point cloud classification, working with Lidar and producing other Elevation data sources.
  • LASTools, LP360, Global Mapper, QGIS experience a plus.
  • Working experience with Terrasolid Products and MicroStation
  • Knowledge of CZMIL and Riegl sensors a plus.

Must be a US Citizen

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
