4502 Medical Dr. Professional Non-Nursing Day Shift POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for providing clinical consultation services and communicating results to physicians, health professionals, and patients (both adult and pediatric) Responsible for screening and reviewing all orders for genetic tests whether they are performed in-house or at a reference laboratory. Must be able to assess the patient's clinical history and, when necessary, recommend alternative genetic testing based on the analysis of risk, benefit and cost to the patient and/or Health System. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Master's degree in genetic counseling. Certified or eligible for certification as a Genetic Counselor by the American Board of Genetics Counseling (ABGC). Certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire date or eligibility.
