Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$49.377 - $63.712 - $78.048

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

Genetic Counselor:

Responsible for providing information and support to families who have members affected with familial cancers, are themselves affected with familial cancers, or who may be at risk for familial cancer. Identify families at risk, investigate disease present, interpret, and communicate information about the disorder, and analyze inheritance patterns and risks of reoccurrence. Provide supportive counseling to families, serve as patient advocate and refer individuals to community and state supportive services.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Genetic Counseling or related field. Three (3) years of experience in job offered or counseling.
• Any amount of experience in additional requirements section below will be acceptable unless specific amount is noted.
• California Genetic Counselor License required.

Additional requirements:

• 2) Experience analyzing and interpreting clinical or laboratory findings.
• 1) Experience with advising and acting as an education resource to both customers and staff.
• 3) Experience analyzing and interpreting patient medical history, medical records, and resource materials.
• 4) Experience providing pre- and post- procedure education or consultation to patients and families.
• Prior academic background or work experience to include:

M-F 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Salary: $102,710 to $162,344 per year.
