Position Summary


The General Manager of Taprooms in Fort Collins will perform complex managerial oversight to all customer-facing functions within the Fort Collins Brewery and Winery Taprooms. The General Manager of Taprooms is accountable for the overall leadership of the daily operations, effective team management, and maintaining a strategic plan while delivering of exceptional guest experiences in the Fort Collins Taprooms. Additionally, the General Manager will be looking for ways to improve business processes, guest experiences and co-worker engagement. This position will work closely with the Taproom Teams and report to the Director of Taproom Operations.


Essential Functions


Team Development/Management


  • Work with Wine Team to educate co-workers on: wine knowledge and tasting, presentation, hospitality, company history, and merchandise display.
  • Accountable to be present and available during the taproom hours, including nights, weekends, and special events
  • Work with Production Teams to educate coworkers on: brewing knowledge and beer styles, and beer presentation.
  • Assisted by Human Resources, lead taproom interviewing and hiring processes; select, orient, train, schedule, coach and counsel tap room co-workers; communicate job expectations and monitor, appraise, and review job contributions
  • Ensures proper performance management of co-workers


Leadership Engagement


  • Support charitable outreach commitment and engage with the Outreach Coordinator and Charitable Committee regularly
  • Model the OBC culture and lives the values of OBC, “Always better."
  • Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive, revenue generating plan for taproom space rental and events
  • Support Marketing: educate customers about company's story and values through knowledgeable interactions and tastings, timely point-of-sale requests, oversee/engage in social media
  • Work closely with Marketing and Production coordination of beer releases
  • Provide and engage in strategic planning as related to beer & wine releases, events, marketing innovative ideas
  • Foster relationships with community partners and neighbors
  • Ability to identify the needs of the Taprooms, effectively initiate next steps, and then move through that change effectively


Enhanced Guest Experience


  • Provide event coordination and logistics: review opportunities and respond to inquiries
  • Coordinate the decor and cleanliness of the tap room to ensure appropriate ambiance
  • Maintain a welcoming, exciting, inclusive, educational, and fun visitor experience
  • Consistently offer friendly, informed and personal customer service
  • Exceed customer expectations of Odell Brewing to create an emotional bond that reinforces the brand position and brand strategy
  • Handles delicate or difficult guest situations including complaints, negative reviews, and ensures resolution
  • Serve and sell alcohol responsibly


Daily Operations


  • Oversee completion of Taproom Merchandise processes and sales
  • Implements and maintains programs targeted at customer loyalty
  • Monitors and completes administrative work to include reconciliation, invoicing, and other accounting-type duties
  • Maintain safe, healthy and sustainable taproom environment: establish, follow and enforce sanitation standards and procedures, comply with health and legal regulations and observe taproom safety and sustainability practices
  • May need to operate behind the bar and support Taproom Teams during busy times or for coverage as needed
  • Ensures beer quality; manage facility draft system, refrigeration, beer inventory and cleanliness of glassware and bar and line cleaning

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase average transaction
  • Maintain margin goals
  • Analyze trends and variances on beer, wine and merchandise to forecast inventory needs and meet sales goals


Requirements


  • Cicerone, Levels in WSET, CMS, or other beer/wine knowledge education
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in practical usage of Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Restaurant POS System
  • TIPS Certification
  • Experience must include purchasing, inventory controls, marketing, budgetary controls, personnel supervision and process improvement.
  • Resides in Fort Collins, CO or willing to relocate (relocation assistance available)
  • Passion for service and providing positive guest experiences
  • 5 years + bar/restaurant, brewery/winery management experience at large venue

Compensation & Benefits


Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Odell’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.


Salary Range


$70,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
