About the Role

Sunsoil is looking for an entrepreneurial, data-driven leader to oversee our day-to-day operations, from marketing and sales to operations and supply chain. You will report directly to the CEO, and play a key role in building this company.


The ideal candidate has experience doing a few of the following things: being a founder, joining an early stage startup, running a P&L, leading a team, building a brand, managing acquisition and retention marketing, and analyzing data.


You’re a strategist, but you’re excited to roll your sleeves up. (We’re a small team punching above our weight.) You have experience, but you’re not tied to a playbook. (We’re leading a brand new category.)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns to drive customer acquisition, retention, and brand loyalty. Lead the sales team in identifying and pursuing new market opportunities
  • Define and own KPIs for business performance
  • Own the strategy, budget and execution to increase growth and profitability of the Sunsoil retail and ecommerce businesses
  • Lead our customer service and operations teams to maintain exceptional levels of customer satisfaction
  • Provide regular reporting to the leadership team and board of directors on performance, initiatives in progress, and learnings
  • Ensure all products and practices comply with state and federal regulations
  • Continuously analyze the CBD market, as well as the wider health and wellness sector, to adapt to emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics
  • Create and implement a talent strategy that emphasizes mentorship, professional growth, and collaboration within the team, fostering a positive, entrepreneurial work environment
  • Partner with Sunsoil’s founders and agriculture/production team to execute initiatives that align with the company's goals and minimize costs, considering the unique, vertically integrated aspect of the business



About You

  • Past involvement in CPG as a brand leader and manager a plus
  • 7+ years experience, encompassing roles in GM, growth, consulting, or operations at high-growth firms
  • Demonstrated success in P&L ownership and driving business unit KPIs
  • Experience in overseeing a brand's evolution, from concept to realization
  • Mentor and leader, who wants to build a team of operators and marketers as we grow this business
  • Strong writer, able to act as a steward of our brand voice and the integrity of our mission
  • Strong communicator, comfortable presenting to our Board of Directors and working cross-functionally (with Sales, Operations, Customer Service)
  • Highly quantitative and data-driven thinker, with the ability to process large amounts of data with a hypothesis-driven mindset
  • Outstanding project management acumen, empowering you to oversee multiple projects and foster consensus among diverse stakeholders.
