Job Description
General Responsibilities


Duties


The General Laborer/Fire Watch individual is responsible for performing a number of duties at the Construction site, including the surveillance of areas where hot work (welding or cutting with torches) occurs including, but not limited to


  • If a fire begins to develop or occurs sound the alarm and, if possible attempt to control/extinguish the fire.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a lookout for small fires started by sparks and bits of slag from the welding/torches.
  • Preparing and restoring construction sites daily to maintain safety standards.
  • Keep work areas clean of combustible materials.
  • Pre-task walk to clear the work areas.
