Job Description
General Laborer -


  • Visually identify different types of metal and non-metal contaminates.
  • Inspect and remove contaminates from all outgoing loads of product.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Inspect vehicles and remove fluids.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and machines such as forklifts, skid-steers, power drills, grinders, hammers, wrenches, shovels, brooms, and pressure washers (On the job training for these items is available).
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in general maintenance and cleanup of the entire facility.
  • Keep area clean and free from debris.


Qualifications


  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Knowledge of Safety/OSHA guidelines and adherence for your safety and others.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen test, background check and fit-for-duty test if needed.
  • Flexible to work off hours, overtime, and weekends, in an industrial environment which may include being outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must have the willingness to go the extra mile learning the scrap metal recycling industry.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work.
  • Ability to walk on uneven work surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
  • Must be willing to cross-train in various positions, be self-motivated, possess good work ethics and have the ability to work with a team.
  • Metals knowledge preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently and multitask.
