Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates must be able to use various electronic tools, including gas testing equipment and a hand-held computer device to document service activities. Testing equipment, vehicles, tools and training are furnished by the Company. Candidates must possess a valid California driver's license and a safe driving record, basic computer skills, strong mechanical skills, ability to follow instructions and customer contact skills. Occasionally Technicians are required to work off-hour shifts, extended-day overtime, and weekends. Applicants must possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience on either gas-fired appliance diagnostics/repairs and/or related HVAC control systems, OR a minimum of one (1) year of trade (Plumbing, electrical, heating)/technical college coursework in maintenance or utility programs, or a certificate in HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical. Good communication skills are required. Selected candidates must pass a pre-qualification examination and physical abilities test. All incumbents participate in the D.O.T. random drug testing program. Employees are represented by a bargaining unit.
